SUNNYVALE, Calif.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—Dec. 7, 2005— QuickLogic Corporation (NASDAQ:QUIK):

-- Draws less than 10 uA of standby current

-- Exhibits both ASIC-like power consumption and the flexibility of field programmable logic

-- Advanced power management features are ideal for power sensitive applications

QuickLogic Corporation (NASDAQ:QUIK), the lowest power programmable logic leader, today announced engineering sample shipments of the first member of its PolarPro(TM) FPGA family, the QL1P100.

The PolarPro FPGA family is the lowest power programmable logic in the industry, drawing less than 10 uA standby current. Architected specifically for battery-powered applications, a new and innovative Very Low Power mode (VLP) enables the reduction of energy consumption for both high bit rate and low bit rate applications. PolarPro FPGAs also exhibit the industry's lowest dynamic power, saving as much as 68% over competitive alternatives, making it an ideal solution for designers of portable electronics products.

With the mapping-efficient logic cell architecture, versatile embedded memory with built-in FIFO control logic and advanced clock management circuitry, PolarPro FPGAs exhibit ASIC-like power consumption. As a result, designers using PolarPro can now extend battery life by as much as 4x, setting a new standard for low power consumption in programmable logic.

"The PolarPro architecture and FPGA family definition were a direct result of inputs from both our customers and our partners in the portable electronics segment," said Brian Faith, QuickLogic's Director of Product Marketing. "Furthermore, we are pleased with the on-time execution of our development team and suppliers in bringing PolarPro to market."

Targeted Applications

Emerging wireless and mass storage products such as Wi-Fi and miniature Hard Disk Drives (HDD) are converging in portable consumer electronics. Adopting these new capabilities can have a significant negative impact on battery life. PolarPro FPGAs were specifically architected to both enable adoption of these technologies and to minimize their effect on energy consumption.

Pricing and Availability

Pricing for the PolarPro FPGA devices starts at $2.95 in high volume quantities in the second half of 2006. For additional information, please visit www.quicklogic.com
